Lenbrook Names Darlene Ruffin-Alexander Vice President of Health Services


ATLANTA, (March 16, 2017)Darlene Ruffin-Alexander has been named Vice President of Health Services for Lenbrook, a nationally accredited, Medicare-certified life plan community in Atlanta. She oversees Lenbrook’s full continuum of care, which includes the walk-in health clinic; short-term rehabilitation services; personal care; memory care; and Lenbrook’s Medicare certified and five-star-rated skilled nursing center.

Ruffin-Alexander first came to Lenbrook in 2016 as Interim Nursing Home Administrator, bringing an extensive background in clinical and operational management to the position. She began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Registered Nurse, and continued her studies to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Over the next three decades, she has worked in virtually all areas of long-term care and operations including staff management, clinical education, program design, policy development, compliance, regulatory affairs and quality improvement. She is recognized by her peers as “The Dean of Long Term Care.”

“We take a very person-centered approach to health care,” said Ruffin-Alexander. “My goal is to maintain our staff skills at the highest level and ensure our healthcare services are always “survey ready,” explained Ruffin-Alexander. She’s referring to the quality surveys conducted regularly by the regulatory and accrediting bodies of Medicare, the Georgia Department of Community Health and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Lenbrook recently earned a Five-Star Quality Rating by Medicare for the third year in a row since becoming certified in 2013. Lenbrook has been accredited by CARF for 25 years.

Ruffin-Alexander is a graduate of the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She is also a Certified Nursing Administrator and a member of the Institute of Excellence in Healthcare.
