Lenbrook Earns Re-Accreditation From CARF-CCAC For Excellence in Senior Living and Care

Lenbrook Successfully Maintains National Accreditation for 20+ Years

ATLANTA, (Mar. 17, 2014) – Atlanta’s premier continuing care retirement community, Lenbrook, has successfully earned re-accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities and Continuing Care Accreditation Commission. This marks the fourth consecutive term of re-accreditation for Lenbrook as it is awarded in 5-year terms. Only about 10 percent of the nation’s 2,000 CCRCs have earned the coveted CARF-CCAC distinction which requires meeting more than 1,100 standards for excellence in resident services, finance, and operational quality.

Lenbrook became the first CCRC in Atlanta to earn national accreditation in 1992 and remains the only CCRC in the metro area to have done so. “Our interest in becoming accredited and maintaining accreditation reflects our willingness to open ourselves up to outside scrutiny. We have a commitment to total transparency with all of our stakeholders,” said Chris Keysor, president and chief executive officer of Lenbrook. “We are extremely pleased to receive this third-party validation of our operational and strategic excellence and to successfully re-earn accreditation by continually raising the bar on the quality of service to our residents,” he said.

Earning national CARF-CCAC accreditation requires a community to undergo a thorough application and evaluation process that often spans a year and culminates in a 3-day, on-site inspection. To maintain accreditation, the community must submit annual quality compliance and financial reports to CARF-CCAC for its review during the 5-year term of accreditation. In the fifth year, the community undergoes not only submits the required annual reports but also undergoes a 3-day on-site survey in order to re-earn accreditation. CARF-CCAC conducted its on-site inspection of Lenbrook in January and awarded Lenbrook full re-accreditation in February.

CARF-CCAC’s standards and conditions for accreditation involve four key areas of operation within the CCRC:

  • Resident life and services
  • Resident health and wellness
  • Financial resources and disclosure
  • Governance and administration

A leader in senior living in Atlanta for three decades, Lenbrook is bustling senior living community offering 356 independent apartment residences; a 9,000-square-foot fitness center; a heated indoor pool and spa; a 5,000-square-foot event center; a walk-in health clinic, three restaurants and over 200 programs and events every month. In addition, Lenbrook offers 16 personal care suites and 60 skilled nursing private and semi-private rooms in its Medicare-certified Health Center, enabling it to provide the full continuum of senior health care on one campus.
