The Survey Says… Lenbrook is a Great Place to Work!

It’s official – Lenbrook is a Great Place to Work! The community recently earned this coveted certification from the Great Place to Work organization and its senior care partner Activated Insights. The organization surveyed Lenbrook Associates and evaluated more than 60 elements of associates’ experiences on the job. The elements included their pride in Lenbrook’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling their work has special meaning.

“We are very proud that our associates feel that Lenbrook is a great place to work,” said Chris Keysor, President and CEO of Lenbrook. “We work hard to offer best-in-class experiences and opportunities for associates, just as we always strive to provide the best-in-class community and services for residents.”

Eighty-seven percent of Lenbrook associates responded to the survey. Highlights from their feedback include:

  • 94% said they were made to feel welcome at Lenbrook when they joined the company
  • 91% said Lenbrook is a physically safe place to work
  • 87% said they feel good about the ways Lenbrook contributes to the community
  • 86% said Lenbrook is a great place to work compared to 57% at typical U.S.-based companies

“Lenbrook has a culture that puts their Associates first,” said Chiniqua Carter, Lenbrook’s Director of Nursing. “Many companies have lost this art. There were many deciding factors that made my decision a no brainer, including the benefits package that allows for associates to obtain affordable healthcare insurance and the excellent resident to staff ratio.”

Making a Difference at Lenbrook

Associates are excited to have the Great Place to Work certification, and several have shared their thoughts about what makes working at Lenbrook so great. Limo Driver Lee Caldwell said, “The experience of assisting our residents is a joy and a blessing. I enjoy coming to Lenbrook every working day.”

Sara Masters, Nutrition Care Manager, said, “I’ve always wanted to work where I feel like I make a difference in someone’s life. I strongly believe in Lenbrook’s mission, and I am SO proud to be part of the Lenbrook team.”

Earlier this year, Lenbrook launched key workforce initiatives aimed at ensuring it is the employer of choice for purpose-driven and engaged associates. These include:

  • Having fair and competitive compensation levels
  • Offering benefits that support mental and physical wellness
  • Focusing on creating more career pathways for associates

These programs are part of the reasons people enjoy working at Lenbrook. Cheryl Dotson, Clinic Manager, shared, “My career launched at Lenbrook 18 years ago working as a Licensed Professional Nurse. I am truly fortunate to have received the Lenbrook Associate Scholarship Award and furthered my nursing educational career goal. It gives me pride in saying I work at Lenbrook.”

Leila Collins, Residency Counselor, agrees that Lenbrook offers strong career opportunities. “As a not-for-profit, Lenbrook’s goal is to create a culture that inspires and appreciates associates,” Collins said. “I found Lenbrook is a place where I can build my future. After two years here, I am proud to be working at Lenbrook.”
