Celebrating 35 Years, Expanding for 35 More!
I joined Lenbrook in 2009, just as the community wrapped up a major expansion that doubled our size and marked 25 years of service. Here we are today, celebrating our 35th anniversary and getting ready to embark on another expansion – one that will enable us to continue to offer Atlanta’s best opportunity to live life to its fullest for both current and future residents.
Celebrating Achievements in Style
We celebrated our 35th anniversary in September with a gala event in our newest dining venue, called “The Club.” The Club is our fifth dining venue and a place where our residents can gather for conversation, coffee and a light breakfast, grab a quick bite throughout the day, enjoy social confluence during happy hour and an after dinner drink or dessert into the evening.
Celebrations like this remind me that when our residents, associates and community get dressed up there is not a more elegant party to be found anywhere in the city. It was a glorious event and as I talked with people one consistent comment seemed to emerge: Pride in Lenbrook. And when I say Lenbrook, I mean the whole community: our residents and their family members, associates, board members and all of our close to 4,500 total “stakeholders.” Our community, for me, also refers to our prime location in one of Atlanta’s most desirable neighborhoods, Buckhead, where we are fortunate to have 1.1 million square feet between our two current towers.
In looking closer at the feeling of pride our community shares, I checked the definition. Pride is a “feeling of satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements or the achievements of those that one is closely associated.” At Lenbrook, we have both — individual pride in living life to its fullest as individuals and pride in those we are so closely associated: residents, associates, board members and even the beautiful community we have all created, cared for and will soon begin to “re-create” through another major expansion.
Expanding to Better Serve Residents
We continuously work to update our spaces and provide relevant lifestyle programs and services that support our residents’ abilities to lead independent, fulfilling and healthy lives. Our actions are clearly guided by our mission:

A large contributor to the lifestyle we offer at Lenbrook comes by way of our location, buildings, services and amenities, starting with some of the best city skyline views, sunsets and vistas of Stone Mountain and Kennesaw Mountain.
We offer a best-in-class fitness facility, credentialed fitness specialists, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, five dining venues, a movie theater, event center, library, meditation room, concierge services, valet parking and much more.
Currently our campus offers 32 floor plans available across 353 independent living apartments plus 16 personal care and 60 private skilled nursing suites.
Our market is steadily expanding as the “silver tsunami” of retiring baby boomers continues. And with it, trends and tastes among seniors are also evolving.
We want to make sure Lenbrook is out front and ready, not only to serve future residents, but also fully equipped to serve the ever-evolving preferences of our current residents too.
Expansion Preconstruction and Design Plans Underway
Over the past year we’ve worked to acquire parcels of land adjacent to our southern side and to obtain the proper zoning to allow us to expand our campus. With the zoning approvals, construction financing and comprehensive market research now in hand, we are well into the design stage for our expansion.
At this time, our plan calls for building 53 new spacious independent Villas and Flats,
appointed with elegant, high-end finishes with underground parking.
Our design calls for plenty of green space and outdoor areas for all to enjoy, with an architectural style complementary to our neighbors and our existing campus. This comprehensive plan also protects our current city views and adds a more convenient exit to Peachtree Road via Kingsboro Road.
Our goal is to begin construction in late 2019 and be ready for occupancy in early 2022.
