Four Ways Lenbrook Sets the Standard for Excellence in Senior Living
You may know that Lenbrook offers more than 50 different floor plans, sophisticated amenities, and a welcoming community on its beautiful campus in the heart of Buckhead. But what truly sets Lenbrook apart from other senior living communities goes beyond what you might expect. Its non-profit status, purpose-driven mission, fiscally responsible approach, and strong resident involvement are key factors in how Lenbrook has set the standard of excellence for engaged senior living in Atlanta since 1983.
Lenbrook was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This designation enables many opportunities for philanthropic fundraising and reinvestment in Lenbrook’s facilities and community life. It also means Lenbrook does not incur property or federal income tax, translating into significant savings for the community and residents.
The non-profit status also lets the Lenbrook Management Team and Board of Directors put people above profits, placing residents at the center of everything they do. Both groups are guided by Lenbrook’s mission to enable residents to enjoy the gifts of independence, good health, and personal fulfillment to the fullest extent possible through its many programs and services. Purpose-driven and innovative, they ensure Lenbrook is in a position of strategic strength and ready for future opportunities.
As part of that focus, Lenbrook continuously pursues excellence and opens itself to regular, rigorous, third-party validation of its services, finances, and operational quality. Since 1992, Lenbrook has consistently earned international accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). To achieve that, Lenbrook must meet more than 1,400 internationally recognized standards of excellence. To maintain the five-year accreditation, Lenbrook must meet annual reporting and operational requirements, demonstrating ongoing performance measurement and management.
In addition, Lenbrook is the only senior living community in Atlanta to earn a Fitch Ratings investment grade rating, which it has held since 2016. By operating in a fiscally responsible manner, Lenbrook remains committed to its not-for-profit mission and creates stability and security for residents and associates. Finally, through its participation in Novare, a consortium of forward-thinking Life Plan Communities throughout the U.S., Lenbrook looks at ways to continue enhancing the senior living experience for residents, now and for generations to come.
Of course, Lenbrook Residents also play a key part in making the community welcoming and sought-after. They have a voice in the community’s services and governance, whether through the Residents Association or individual contact with management. The Association regularly meets with the management team to discuss finances, services, and community opportunities.
Lenbrook’s non-profit status, mission, fiscal approach, and resident involvement set the community apart from other communities in Atlanta and will continue to do so in the future.
