Interactive Murder Mystery Dinners Connect Lenbrook Residents and Associates

Was it the Princess in the Library with the Candlestick, or the Flapper in the Kitchen with the Lead Pipe? At Lenbrook, these questions came to life during two interactive murder mystery dinner theater experiences that brought associates and residents together in very engaging ways.

In A Royal Wedding to Die For, residents stepped into the grandeur of a royal wedding but soon discovered that secrets lurked beneath glittering tiaras and champagne toasts. In the Roaring Twenties Whodunnit Mafia Murder Mystery, residents entered a glamorous evening of suspense as they uncovered clues about ruthless mobsters in a world of crime gone wild.

Lenbrook Associates from the Dining department and many others came together to develop and host these popular events. They planned the three-course meals tied to the evening’s theme, elaborately decorated the Phoenix upscale dining room to set the scene, and played key characters in the mysteries. While eating dinner, residents sorted through clues, interrogated suspects, and engaged with other guests as they tried to solve the case before dessert was served.

The interactive dinners brought Lenbrook’s mission to life, highlighting how living and working in community enhances daily life.

“These dinners are great examples of how ‘we engage together every day’ to nurture connection, well-being, and fulfillment for everyone at Lenbrook,” said Felecia Sveda, Lenbrook’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our mission statement is a daily invitation to be part of something meaningful. When associates feel valued, connected, and fulfilled, their positive energy radiates throughout the entire community. They certainly did that for residents and themselves in developing and hosting these fun events.”

“Being cast in the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater has been one of my most rewarding experiences at Lenbrook,” said Marnie Shellenberger, Residency Counselor, Sales & Marketing. “As I worked alongside fellow associates, I felt an incredible sense of pride as we functioned as a highly effective team, fostering connections and well-being between residents and associates. This exceptional event allows associates to showcase their talents by stepping out of their daily routine, bringing a new level of excitement to the community.”

Whether associates are preparing a meal that brings people together, creating a welcoming environment for residents and their families, or collaborating with colleagues to create engaging programs, they are living out Lenbrook’s mission and actively shaping the experience for everyone around them at Lenbrook.
