A Pawsitive Upgrade: New Dog Park Sets Tails Wagging
Dogs and other pets have long enriched life at Lenbrook, bringing joy and companionship to many residents. With popular activities like Doggie Yappy Hour on Sunday afternoons and the Resident Pet Task Force, which works alongside management to ensure pets have the space they need while honoring those who may not wish to engage with animals, Lenbrook is proudly pet-friendly.
This August, just in time for National Dog Month, there’s even more reason to celebrate with the debut of a newly upgraded dog park. The Resident Pet Task Force and Lenbrook Management collaborated to improve the design, making the park safer and more accessible for pets, their owners, and the broader community. Enhancements include re-grading the area for better drainage and safety, replacing the fence, and installing 100% permeable K-9 turf. A double-gated entrance and shaded sitting benches complete the new space.

Lenbrook Residents are enthusiastic in their appreciation of the enhanced park, which is fast becoming a favorite gathering place for both two-legged and four-legged friends. “The increased width is a big help,” shared Jerry Caswell. “That and the leveling of the surface make the area much more usable and safer.”
Many residents are taking full advantage of the space, making it part of their daily routine. Jim Ledbetter noted, “Sadie and I enjoy the dog park each day just after noon. There is plenty of shade, and it’s nice for chasing the ball without getting dirty. An excellent addition.”
Liz Shepherd agreed. “Now I can take my dog and let her get to know the others by using the double entry. We are both looking forward to many visits.”
Others are enjoying the park’s peacefulness as much as their pups enjoy playtime. “We love reading while Lily wanders around and looks for friends,” said Pat and Raymond Riddle.
Beyond the park itself, pet-friendly living is clearly in high demand. Warren Culpepper, a key member of the Resident Pet Task Force, noted that one in four residents of Lenbrook’s newest Kingsboro section are dog owners. But even for those without pets, he said, “Many still love seeing and playing with dogs, and the dog park gives them an opportunity.”
From tossing a ball to relaxing in the shade or simply enjoying the sight of happy pups at play, Lenbrook’s upgraded dog park provides community for dogs and humans alike.
