Wellness Meets Community in Lenbrook Fitness Center

When Fitness Manager Monique Donigan talks about what Lenbrook offers in the 9,000-square-foot Fitness Center, she exemplifies how excited she and the team of credentialed fitness specialists are to help residents thrive.

“We call the Fitness Center a Wellness Hub where residents can access a wide range of resources, classes, and programs. We take a personalized approach to helping them stay motivated and on track to reach their personal fitness goals.”

Lenbrook’s fitness specialists are certified in Senior Personal Training, Parkinson’s programs, Senior Aqua Fit, CPR, and Group Instructor Training. No matter a resident’s fitness level or health considerations, there is someone qualified to support them in staying active through personalized exercise plans and classes.

Residents can sign up for a Fitness Evaluation, a one-on-one consultation that serves as the foundation for their wellness journey. Based on those results, the fitness specialist may recommend personal training sessions, create a customized workout plan, or suggest fitness classes that align with individual goals and abilities.

The 20 group classes offered weekly span the spectrum of intensity levels and include strength training, balance, posture, Pilates, aerobics, and yoga. The center also has strength-training and cardio machines, including NuStep steppers, bikes, treadmills, and a classic rowing machine – a resident favorite. The resort-like indoor heated pool offers its own array of opportunities. Multiple Aqua Motion classes are available, along with open swimming. And the pool has special equipment to assist residents with mobility issues. Afterwards, residents can ease their muscles in the large hot tub with soothing jets.

Monique and the team host monthly fitness challenges and a rotating Healthy Awareness topic to give residents the opportunity to learn, grow, and engage with wellness in new ways. The Aqua Volleyball program is popular, and the Croquet program is a point of pride.

Wellness extends beyond exercise, and the center offers other amenities designed for relaxation and self-care. The massage room provides a peaceful space to relax and unwind, while reflexology services and a full-service salon round out the offerings.

“We constantly seek creative ways to keep residents engaged and active,” Monique said. “Whether they want to maintain their current fitness level, recover from an injury, manage a chronic condition like Parkinson’s, or try something new in a supportive environment, our Wellness Hub has something to offer. Every visit gives residents an opportunity to connect, challenge themselves, and celebrate what they can do.”
